The Best Childbirth Education Classes in Los Angeles
Childbirth Education is the foundation on which Bini was created.
We believe that informed parents are able to make better decisions for themselves and their babies.
Workshop Topics and Information
Our childbirth class covers:
Our classes focus on the experience of becoming a parent just as a much as in labor and birth. We also discuss many ways to increase communication with your partner, care provider, and family members.
Most people join our program during the second trimester of their pregnancy, but early birds and last minute sign-ups are always welcome!
Upcoming Childbirth Classes
Our childbirth classes are taught in various formats including a 5-Week Workshop, Weekend Workshop and One Day Workshop.
Not sure which class to take? Request a call.
In a beautiful and comfortable space, our award winning instructors combine our experiences as mothers, birth and postpartum doulas, nurses, and certified childbirth educators to offer expecting couples the most accurate and current information in prenatal education available today.
All of our instructors are ICEA or LAMAZE certified childbirth educators who follow the same curriculum for each workshop regardless of it being a one-day or 5 week series. (If you have questions for a specific childbirth educator, please fell free to email them directly.)
We explore many different childbirth methods, including The Bradley Method and LAMAZE, hypnosis for labor, and everything in between. We do not believe one method fits everyone, and we approach birth as an individual process that each family will do in their own way.
*We offer delicious and nutritious snacks.

Childbirth Education Team
Ana Paula Markel, Senior Childbirth Educator
Ana Paula became a childbirth educator and birth doula in 2002 after her rich and vastly different personal experiences in childbirth. She had two cesareans and two vaginal births (2VBA2C).
She is now a certified doula through DONA International, a DONA approved birth doula trainer, a certified childbirth educator and childbirth educator trainer through ICEA (International Childbirth Education Association), and has been a mentor to many doulas and educators.
Ana Paula sits on two task forces at Cedars-Sinai hospital, improving patient satisfaction and bringing her experiences as a doula and birth diplomat to this great institution. Some of the accomplishments of one of the task forces has been: skin-to-skin in the OR, creating birth plans for hospital patients with a doula's touch, aromatherapy in the hospital, and creation of a doula committee to address patient communication and quality of care. Ana Paula is also responsible for creating, developing, and implementing a very successful hospital-based childbirth education program for Cedars-Sinai. Bringing evidence-based, fun childbirth classes to expecting families is one of Ana Paula's greatest passions.
Ana Paula also serves on the board of directors for DONA International as President-Elect and has supported both the Ina May Gaskin documentary and The Business of Being Born.
She has received countless awards throughout her career, including Childbirth Educator of the Year, Doula Trainer of the Year, Doula Mentor of the Year, and most recently, ICEA's President Award (2015).
Carlie Baiocchi, Senior Instructor
Carlie Baiocchi (bye-OH-key) is a registered nurse, doula, and educator with over ten years of experience in bedside care. At Bini, Carlie teaches childbirth education classes that provide women with the wisdom and confidence to be stronger than they ever thought possible.
A practicing labor & delivery nurse, Carlie has witnessed hundreds of births, and there is one thing she can say: every birth experience is unique. In the classroom, Carlie combines a nurturing approach with a deep toolkit of proven methods to help expecting families navigate the unexpected challenges of childbirth, newborn care, and parenting.
When she’s not working, Carlie looks after her two daughters (ages 6 and 2), who are a constant source of inspiration for new and effective parenting techniques.
Talia Moore, Childbirth Educator
Talia is DONA Certified Birth Doula, ICEA trained Childbirth Educator and a Certified Pilates Instructor.
She was born and raised in Melbourne, Australia but has called Los Angeles home since 2008. She is the smitten mother of a gorgeous, vivacious (almost) one year old.
Talia believes whole-heartedly that no matter what a woman's birth choice is, she should feel empowered, supported and respected.
Talia is also the founder of Tummy Thyme, a healthy and organic frozen baby food delivery service.
Lynette Weaver, Childbirth Educator
"First off, Bini Birth's space is beautiful, comfortable, and peaceful. I was able to spend most of the class time (when not practicing breathing or a movement) in a very relaxed position on one of the many couches with my swollen feet up. The snacks provided were yummy, nutritious, and plentiful. But most importantly, the teachers were welcoming, engaging, and incredibly knowledgable..."

"Love this place! The community, resources, and space are perfect. My partner and I learned so much during the Childbirth Class this past weekend. Left the weekend feeling excited and relaxed about childbirth. Ana Paula, the owner and class instructor is bright, warm, and truly inspiring. Looking forward to taking more classes here and becoming part of the Bini community."

"My husband and I took the 6 week Childbirth Education Class and loved every moment of it. Neither one of us has family out here in Los Angeles so we were encouraged to take a longer class to make friends with other parents and we did just that...We learned a lot which has eased so many of my concerns and fell in love with the Bini Birth educators. Bini Birth is a great resource for parents."
